Can you help ?

We are currently trying to set up one of Scotland’s first blood bike services. We will be under the umbrella of NABB (Nationwide Association of blood bikes). This organisation was set up in about 2010/11 to advise member groups on various pieces of information that may be required.

The blood bike service has been operating in England since 1968 and successfully deliver all types of product between hospitals, not just blood. NABB and its member groups are also equipped to safely deliver Breast milk from area to area.

We are a voluntary organisation completely manned by volunteers and are currently saving English hospitals in the region of £40,000 to £60,000 per hospital per year in transport costs.

We need help, we are already getting requests from nursing mothers who wish to donate milk to the milk bank in Glasgow. We would like to get involved in this service but as of yet are not at the stage where we can do this.

We already have the volunteers we already have the resolve we already have the backing of NABB, all we need now is a bit of help with the final stages to get up and running. If you think you can help with one of the first services of its kind in Scotland please don’t hessitate to get in touch and help assist in getting this off the ground.

Thank you in anticipation for any help you can give.
