DONATING

Blood Bikes Scotland relies on donations

Give as you Live Donate    text to donate

Our charity is 100% funded by donations and we need your help to deliver our service to the NHS. Here's how you can help.

It costs Blood Bikes Scotland around £6,000 each month to provide our service to the NHS. This covers our operational costs, including fuel, maintenance, insurance, IT, and consumables (such as tyres). In addition, our vehicles have a typical operational life of around 4 to 5 years, and we have a continuous programme of replacement to keep our fleet cost effective and reliable. The number of job requests we receive from NHS Scotland is increasing every year, requiring us to invest in additional capacity to meet this demand.

  • £25 pays for fuel for a bike for one day
  • £50 pays for a hi-viz jacket for one of our riders
  • £100 pays for our IT and telephone costs for one month
  • £250 pays for a set of bike tyres
  • £500 pays to insure a bike for a year

As a club or community group

If you are considering a charity fundraising event or sponsored activity, we would be delighted to be chosen to receive your support.

We regularly visit clubs and community groups across the regions we serve as part of our outreach programme, giving talks and often bringing one of our liveried motorcycles for you to see up close.

As a business

Blood Bikes Scotland has been fortunate to receive the generous support of businesses both large and small as part of their corporate social responsibility programmes, through donation, by sponsoring a vehicle or by allowing their team members to volunteer with us during their working hours.

We are particularly honoured to have received donations by being chosen by a number of organisations as their annual nominated charity. And donations collected by some of our volunteers at fundraising events have been matched one-to-one by their employers.

Remember us in your will

Your loved ones come first, but leaving a legacy to Blood Bikes Scotland in your will – however large or small – could make a real difference in supporting the work that we do.

Most charitable gifts in wills are tax free, and you may be able to reduce the amount of inheritance tax payable.

There are several ways to leave Blood Bikes Scotland a gift in your will, but you should always get professional advice to help you make the choice that works for you.
